WSJT-X Candidate release 2.7.0-rc6 available.

Dear WSJT-X Users,

We are pleased to announce that Release Candidate WSJT-X 2.7.0-rc6 is ready for download and use by beta testers.  This is a bug-fix release; it addresses problems related to the new SuperFox mode, reported by users of release candidate 5.

The SuperFox operators at K8R (American Samoa) encourage Hounds to work them again, in the remaining days of their activity at American Samoa. This will help us to exercise RC6 thoroughly before putting it to use for the DXpedition to Jarvis Island, next month.

Further details on program changes since RC5 can be found in the Release Notes:
https://wsjt.sourceforge.io/wsjtx-doc/Release_Notes_2.7.0-rc6.txt

Please remember that Release Candidates are intended for beta testers. If you download and use WSJT-X 2.7.0-rc6, please provide relevant feedback to us on the new features in version 2.7, and on anything that does not seem to work properly for you.

Direct links to installation packages for Windows, Linux, and macOS can be found on the WSJT-X page https://wsjt.sourceforge.io/wsjtx.html

It may take a short time for the code to be updated on SourceForge.

The authors and Copyright holders of WSJT-X request that derivative works should not publish programs based on features in WSJT-X before those features are made available in a General Availability (GA) release of WSJT-X.  We will cease making public Release Candidate (RC) pre-releases for testing and user early access purposes if this request is ignored.

Feedback should be sent to this email list or one of the of the others mentioned here in the User Guide:

We hope you will enjoy using WSJT-X 2.7.0-rc6, and that you will help us to create a new General Availability (GA) release soon.

Release: WSJT-X 2.7.0-rc6
July 19, 2024
-------------------------

WSJT-X 2.7.0 Release Candidate 6 is a bug-fix release primarily
affecting the new SuperFox mode. The following bugs have been fixed:

- Strong signals from Superfox too frequently failed to decode.

- SuperFox sometimes sent incorrect signal reports and an invalid
digital signature.

- A Fortran bounds error could sometimes occur in the SuperFox
decoder.

- For SuperFox operator, the "age" displayed for Hound callers
became garbled after the 0000 UTC date change.

- Decodes of SuperFox transmissions were not posted to PSK Reporter.

- Some SuperFox-related messages were posted incorrectly to ALL.TXT.

- Logic for turning the SuperHound label green was flawed in some
circumstances.

Release Candidate 6 also includes updates to Hamlib and the Chinese
user interface translation.
