SmartSDR for MacOS version 2.5.07 has been released

Marcus, DL8MRE has released the latest version of SmartSDR for MacOS, the Official FlexRadio Systems® Client for your Mac

SmartSDR is a full featured FlexRadio client that enables your Mac to operate your FlexRadio device.

It is fully compatible to SmartSDR v1, v2 (including SmartLink) and v3 (including MultiFlex and SmartControl).

Important: This App requires a FlexRadio Systems® Series-6000 Software Defined Radio (SDR).

FACTS AND FEATURES:

  • Compatible to macOS Big Sur and Monterey and newer
  • Runs natively on M1 Silicon as well as Intel Macs

SmartSDR offers all features of SmartSDR for Windows such as:

  •  Unlimited number of Slices, Panadapters (limited only by Radio model)
  • Maintain all Radio, Slice and Panadapter settings
  • SmartLink™ remote access support
  • MultiFlex™ support
  • SmartControl™ support
  • Native Power Genius (PGXL), Tuner Genius (TGXL), Antenna Genius (AGXL) and Rotator Genius (RGXL) Support (no Windows Software needed)
  • And all the other features of the Windows Version (including Diversity)

There is no longer need for running SmartSDR for Windows on Bootcamp, Parallels or a separate PC because these features are also included:

  • Radio Firmware Updates
  • Setting up and registering SmartLink – you can even maintain multiple SmartLink accounts
  • Installation of Region (Turf) Files
  • Backup / Restore Radio Configuration and Memories

In addition, the following extra features are included:

  • Full featured FT8 / FT4 Tool
  • RTTY now also included
  • CW Decoder (new)
  • Logbook with auto logging and ADIF Im- and UDP Export (Synchronizes with Smartsdr for iOS over iCloud) and LOTW, QRZ.com integration

EXTERNAL SOFTWARE SUPPORT

Even though FT8 is included, you can run this App along with your favorite external Software like WSJT-X, fldigi or others because:

  • CAT Support for FlexRadio CAT, Kenwood TS-2000 emulation and RigCtrl / Hamlib
  • DAX TX and RX audio streaming to any device

EXTERNAL PERIPHERALS SUPPORT

  • FlexControl support
  • You can use a Midi Controller (like the DJ2GO2 or CMD-Micro and others) to fully control your Radio
  • CW Straight Key / Paddle via Midi Controller, FTDI Serial Cable or assigned keyboard keys
  • External microphone support (e.g. for USB microphones)

Please note: This is no Catalyst Version of SmartSDR for iOS. This is a completely new written native macOS App.

Version 2.5.07 contains the following changes and improvements:

  • Fixed a bug which caused the CW Keyer Straight Key setting to be missing
  • A few additional minor issues were fixed

Version 2.5.05 which was released October 31, 2023 was a major update and the App is now a native macOS 14 Sonoma App and backward compatible up to two generations to macOS 12 (Monterey)

  • You can now configure alerts for also for Grids and States
  • Enhanced support for Grids and States in tools like FT8 and DX-Cluster
  • Introducing a reimagined logging screen for a more streamlined user experience
  • Logging functionalities now extended to include custom fields for specialized activities like POTA, SOTA, WWFF, and SAT
  • Added the option to lock custom fields in place, particularly useful for SAT operations
  • Revitalized the Call Lookup feature, now consistently implemented across the entire app
  • The Logbook now offers advanced filtering options, enabling you to filter by State and Grid
  • Added compatibility for Antenna Genius (AGXL) version 4 firmware including Remote Access
  • Overhauled key components of the Genius Tool; device discovery is now only initiated when adding new Genius devices
  • Unified Macro Management: All macros can now be conveniently managed under the ‘Radio -> Macros’ section
  • Resolved an issue affecting the filtering by mode FT4 in the Logbook
  • Fixed a bug in the Frequency List that prevented toggling between internal and external lists
  • Fixed a VOX-related bug that occurred during DAX-Streaming
  • Implemented several additional improvements and optimizations behind the scenes
  • The app’s user manual has been updated to reflect all the new changes and features
